FileZilla
FileZilla is a free FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software program for uploading and downloading files to your website.
If you use Cpanel to upload or download files to your site the speed of file transfers may be a lot slower than using FileZilla.
FileZilla is more efficient and less taxing on your system because the software is used as stand alone to access your site. You only need to load your Cpanel login information once for each site to be able to login. FileZilla retains all the login information for each site, thereby eliminating continually retyping in login information to gain site access.
In contrast with Cpanel, you would need to login through Cpanel to each site every time and then access file manager before you can begin uploading or downloading.
FileZilla also allows you to login to two sites at one time so files can be transferred from site to site easily. You can also do that with Cpanel access for each site but it is not as convenient as Filezilla and will consume more resources on your local PC.
As far as bandwidth is concerned every time you open a window, by default your bandwidth, provided by your Internet provider, is divided across all your open windows. Using FileZilla will reduce bandwidth consumption campared to using Cpanel for site access.
